SIM Cards are no longer physical and are provided in various (industry and proprietary) standards.
The newest standard (approved by the GSMA) is the eUICC SIM Card. The benefits you receive with deploying eUICC SIM technology are numoures
Other (removable) SIM cards are often inaccessible within M2M wireless modules.
Making it difficult if not impossible to change the SIM once deployed. GSMA Embedded SIMs never need to be removed – new operator profiles are simply downloaded to the SIM when required.
The GSMA Embedded SIM Specification simplifies logistical processes:
– installation of a single SIM Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) into an M2M device at the point of manufacture
– Download of an appropriate operator profile in the destination country for that device.
– Removes the need for stock control and shipping of physical preprovisioned SIM Cards.
– All this operational flexibility is delivered with no compromise on security.

We know and tested all SIM types. We are one of the first to offer the eUICC SIM Card technology; and since we have the relationships with the SIM manufacturers-, the modem hardware manufacturers and the Mobile Operators implementing them in their networks, we offer our knowledge to the benefits of your customers successful connectivity.
Why we love the eUICC SIM Cards in short, by comparisson of older and the new eUICC types
Single IMSI SIM
Single IMSIA single IMSI SIM Card has a memory of 16 or 32 KB and connects in the home country to one single operator. When it is out of the home country (in roaming) the data traffic will be trottled back to the home country before it travels to the internet (and as such to the end destination). This means that further you are from your HOST operator the more latency and less speed you will get; for broadcast purposes this is not beneficial. In cases where there are larger crowds in one area, you can only connect to (your home or your roaming) one operator and the speed becomes less since a lot of people are on the same base station. You can prevent this to sign an agreement with your local host that you are a priority costumer. This can only be arranged by an MNO who has his own spectrum.
When a MVNE or MVNO has supplied you with their single IMSI SIM card the traffic will first go trough the owner of the spectrum (MNO) to the corenetwork of the MVNO. The MVNO normally has its own APN, when this is the case you have to manually input an APN name/passw into the modem/phone.
It is not in common that each sim have a different PLMN profile as normally the costumer doesnt decide which network is open in roaming countries. Single IMSI is the OLD GSMA standard.
Dual IMSI or limited multi IMSI SIMs
The card holds 64 to 128 KB memory depending how much IMSI you need to have on the SIM card. Multi IMSI implementation is only launched by full MVNO or MVNE’s.Multi IMSI from different operators (MNO) or MVNO which are installed on the SIM Card can cause some problems like, that you have to set the APN again when switching between different IMSI.When the IMSI is send via OTA it is possible the OTA isnt correct and on the moment you can’t use the simcard anymore. When the device/SIM Card it is in roaming the data traffic will be throttled back to the home country before it goes to the internet (and as such to the end destination). This means that further you are from your HOST operator the more latency and less speed you will get. When there is a problem with the GGSN, HLR or core network all IMSI are affected and won’t work (look at the problem of Knowroaming)
eUICC SIM Card
- Multiple MNO networks on one sim
- Own PLMN list per SIM possible
- Able to change a complete profile of an operator with a fysical change to another corenetwork
- Multi MNO profiles whereas the data traffic will stay in the same country or region APAC - AFRICA - EUROPE - CARIBBEAN - South AMERICA - North AMERICA and others.
- Customer decides which networks are open in each country
- Each profile can be send over the air to the eUICC SIM Card via the subscription manager (compatible device at SIM end needed)
- Compatability with Mobile Viewpoint hardware
- Costumer can change profiles by themselves via the new portal and later an APP
- Costumer portal white label functionality
- Portal with billing functionality per 12 hours, easy for internal usage and productions administration
- Per production a maximun limit of usage can be set
- A little app on the SIM Card continually measures the strenght of the network and changes (when signal is poor) automatically to an other network (oif agreed by the costumer)
- Support and service from Wired Broadcast en Mobile Viewpoint are guaranteed (since they validated the technology) also when there are problems with the connectivity
- GSMA standard and approved by manufacturers, telco industry, etc.
- The specifications are application agnostic and therefore not restricted to theworld of telecommunications. They can be used as a (secure) platform for basicallyany application
